During her first term on City Council, Dr. Lisa DeForest delivered results for Murrieta residents.

Advocated for financial accountability and responsibility.

  • Clean audits

  • Capital budget excellence award

  • 30% in reserves increasing it by 10% in several areas

  • Balanced budget

Ensured a safe community.

  • Supported the addition of two new fire trucks, over $4 million dollars.

  • Supporting the addition of fire station 6 was instrumental in the discussion of mutual aid and reimbursement with Cal Fire.

  • Facilitated a mutual agreement with MSJC and Murrieta for a regional training facility.

Moving forward with a regional coalition for secure funding.

  • Collaborated with Congressman Issa for funding for our new regional mobile command post, securing a $900,000 grant.

  • Worked to enhance and track our code violations, developed policy for vacation rentals in Murrieta.

Mitigated traffic and congestion.

  • Lobbied for Keller Road interchange in Sacramento and Washington DC

  • Expanding Murrieta Hot Springs Road/ adding turn lane in to Sam's Club and Trader Joe's shopping center

  • Appealed several developments due to safety concerns and not proper mitigation of traffic.

Supported the development of old town Murrieta.

  • Created Murrieta’s first public private partnership with Murrieta 395

  • Advocated for wheeling agreement for water and sewer to challenged areas.

  • Supported the art policy which will affect the downtown.

  • Facilitated the purchase of road barricades.

  • Requested the development of a specific downtown map.

Advocated for Local Business.

  • Used $1 million in federal funding to help stimulate economic growth after Covid

  • Supported "Shop Local" programs

  • Voted against the state to let businesses stay open during pandemic.

Enhanced Economic Development.

  • Developed a higher education coalition to help simulate local talent, $500 million in economic stimulation.

  • Attract new businesses.

  • Supported Downtown market night

  • Served on the Ad Hoc committee for the triangle development
